NHL DRAFTED: Agostino, Luukko, McNally, Mullin and Tinordi
AYHL Players Lookin Good for the NHL

The AYHL had a good showing in this year’s NHL Draft, including a First Round pick by Montreal, when they selected Jarred Tinordi 22nd overall. Jarred’s AYHL hockey experience included seasons with Team Maryland and the Washington Little Caps, before heading the Junior Nationals of the AJHL. From there, Tinordi was selected for the USA Hockey NTDP.

Vancouver selected Patrick McNally in the 4th Round, 115 Overall. McNally, from Glen Head, New York spent his Youth hockey with the Gulls before heading over to the Suffolk Juniors for two seasons. Patrick attended Milton Academy this past season continuing to average more than an a point a game, tallying 14 goals and 21 assists for 35 points in 28 games. He was named New England Prep School Defenseman of the Year and is set to attend Harvard in the fall of 2011.

Forward James Mullin was also taken the 4th Round, 118 overall and was selected by Tampa. Mullin spent two seasons with the Little Flyers as a high scoring forward before heading to Shattuck – St. Marys.

Kenny Agostino, a product of the NJ Colonials and played this season for their 18 U team as well as Delbarton High school. Agostino was taken in the 5th round and 140th overall by Pittsburgh. With the Colonials, Kenny netted 23 goals and 11 assists for 34 points, in only 14 games.

The Flyers selected Nike Luukko in the 6th round, 179th overall. Nick has played the last few seasons with Team Comcast and the Junior Flyers prior to that. Luukko just graduated from Gunnery Prep in Connecticut, heading to Dubuque of the USHL next season. He’s expected to attend Vermont in the fall of 2011.
